Trip Grading

The following guides are an indication only of the expected trip conditions. These may vary on the day, due to weather conditions or river flows. The club takes no responsibility for accidents or damage to persons or property on a trip. It is the drivers responsibility for accidents or damage to persons or property on a trip, as it is the drivers choice as to whether they will join any trip. Vehicles on a grade 4 or 5 trip must have snorkels and mud tyres fitted. The trip leader on a grade 4 or 5 trip may exclude a driver who has insufficient experience for the trip, or an unsuitable vehicle. The club will hold training days during the year to enable drivers to become more experienced in driving and vehicle recovery.

Grade 1: No damage or scratches likely. Easy driving, Novice drivers

Grade 2: Some brush marks and scratches possible. Some mud, easy tracks, bumper deep water, Novice drivers

Grade 3: Some damage to sills possible. More mud, harder tracks, wheel deep water, Average drivers.

Grade 4: Heavy brush marks and scratches likely. Deep mud, steep tracks, Bonnet deep water, Experienced drivers.

Grade 5: Body damage from rocks and banks likely. Hard 4WDriving, bush bashing, over bonnet water, Experienced drivers only.
